Samba-Mayela's Temporary Suspension: The Whereabouts Breach Where 'No Substance' Still Carries Big Risk

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) confirmed on Friday that the French hurdler has been given a temporary suspension for a whereabouts breach. The sanction took effect on September 18. Her representative immediately said the matter is purely administrative, with no positive test and no question of substance use.

Samba-Mayela is 25. She won silver in the 100m hurdles at the Paris 2026 Olympics. In an event where hundredths of a second separate medals, that silver was built on uninterrupted training blocks.
